TroubleShootingStrapping
Problem #3
-Seal on one end of strapping, but
nothing on the other end.
Possible Cause
-Strapping slipped short through red
handle gripper.
Correction
- Option #1 Adjust redhandle bolt out
to tighten knurl against strapping.
- Option #2 Pull red handle closed
and make sure knurl is only hitting
strapping. (If knurl is hitting side of
fetcher then red handles can be
extremely tight, and strapping still will
not hold.)
If this is the problem then adjust the
fetcher, so that the knurled piece hits
the strapping and not the side of the
fetcher. After adjusting make sure
that the fetcher still clears the trough
when the fetcher cylider extends.
-Option #3 Check to see if knurled
weldment is bent.
Overview**
**There are three things that must
happen before the fetchers can hold
the strapping.
1. There must be adequate force
applied to knurled piece to hold
strapping. (Option #1)
2. Knurled piece must hit only the
strapping and not the fetcher.
(Option #2)
3. Knurled piece must hit the
strapping square (or with all the
knurled surface). (Option #3)
Strapping Troubleshooting
If a bundle has a miss tie, the first step is to look at both ends of the
failed strapping and refer to the possible options below.

Note:
-You can check to see if strapping
is slipping out of red handles after
the first 3 bales of a new bundle.
-If the strapping holds for these 3
bales then it will hold for the rest of
the bundle.
