Diagnostic:
Error Codes and Messsages
Error Message and Code:
“Code 32”
Framing/Parity Error
Interpretation:
The console received a garbled data
message from the specifi ed Smart
Controller.
Step 1:
Complete the Procedure: “Verifi-
cation of Communication/Power
Wiring”
[Procedure RP9, page 61]
Step 2:
Restore operation. If the error
r e p e a t s , t h e n r e p l a c e t h e S C
using Procedure: “Replace Model
3120-030 Smart Controller”
[Proce-
dure RP5, page 59].
Note: this error
is almost always a wiring fault, not
a bad Smart Controller.
Step 3:
If the error repeats after SC replace-
ment, then Complete the Procedure:
“Troubleshooting Smart Controller
Problems”
[Procedure RP12, page
62].
Step 2:
If system starts with no errors but
continues to fault repeatedly with
code 33, conduct a “Test All SC’s”
procedure
[Procedure SP8, page 45]
to isolate and correct the problem.
Error Message and Code:
“Code 33”
“Console Byte Mismatch”
Interpretation:
C o n s o l e r e c e i v e d a m e s s a g e
r e s p o n s e s e g m e n t w h i c h m i s -
matched a segment transmitted
during a job. Possibly caused by
transient electrical noise.
Step 1:
Cycle console system power on/off
and observe the start-up test for
detection of errors. If a start up
error message is displayed, use the
message to trace the originating
problem.
Error Message and Code:
“Code 34”
“Electrical Short in Valve”
Interpretation:
The Smart Controller reports a wiring
or coil short connected to a port at the
station indicated in the message.
Step 1:
Go to the Smart Controller at the
identified station. At that location,
apply procedure “Verification of
Solenoid Valve and Port Wiring”
[Procedure RP10, page 61].
Step 2:
At the console, apply procedure
“Verifying that Inactive SC Ports are
Turned OFF”
[Procedure RP11, page
62].
Step 3:
Restart the system. If fault message
34 repeats, locate the station identi-
fi ed in the message. Determine which
fl uid was being dispensed at the time
of error. Then replace that solenoid
valve using procedure “Replace
Model 3120-032 Air Solenoid Valve...”,
[Procedure RP3, page 58].
Step 4:
Restart the system. If fault message
34 repeats, apply procedure “Replace
Model 3120-030 Smart Controller”,
[Procedure RP5, page 59]. Note:
This error is almost always a wiring
problem, not a defective device.
