A-12 Appendix A –PFD
Nav 2 – VHF (VOR or ILS Localizer) radio facility whose
frequency is tuned in the Nav 2 radio’s active channel.
Because you want only one active flight path, the primary Nav
source is synchronized across all IFDs. This means that a
primary nav change from any IFD is replicated on all IFDs. This
applies to primary nav source, mode, and course changes.
Bearing Ptr LSK
The Bearing Ptr (Pointer) LSK turns the bearing pointer Off or
selects the bearing pointer source. The sources can be:
•
Off – No bearing pointer displayed.
•
FMS – The bearing to the next FMS facility, intersection,
or waypoint is displayed.
•
Nav 1 – The bearing to the Nav 1 VOR is displayed.
•
Nav 2 – The bearing to the Nav 2 VOR is displayed.
•
ADF – The bearing to the NDB is displayed. (if installed)
The bearing pointer color is light blue. There is not a bearing
pointer for localizer or ILS sourced Nav 1 or NAV 2.
Because the bearing pointers are informational, the bearing
pointers are not synchronized between the IFDs. Each IFD can
have its bearing pointer(s) set to any of the available choices.
“Hook to the FMS” LSK
The L5 LSK is your hook into the FMS and the specific label and
function of this key is variable dependent on the state of the FMS
flight plan. The specific function and label is defined in the table in
Chapter 6.
CDI LSK
The CDI LSK, located on the PFD-Nav Display page, displays
(CDI On) and clears (CDI Off) the Course Deviation Indicator
(CDI). This assumes that a flight plan or Nav facility is selected as
the Primary Nav source. The CDI indicates the off-course angular
deviation (in degrees) from the selected (desired) course. The
CDI LSK defaults to “Off” (no CDI). The entire LSK will not appear
if there is no active flight plan or course.
