Release 7/ 8 to Release 9 Differences

On-aircraft troubleshooting

Release 9 systems add a more extensive on-aircraft
troubleshooting capability. These are intended to provide a quick
snapshot of the overall health of the system as well as each
individual LRU.

LRU removal/replacement

In the event of a LRU failure or required upgrade, only the
specific LRU, not the entire PFD, needs to be removed and/or
replaced. In most cases, re-calibration and pitot-static leak
checks are not required. Every qualified Avidyne Service Center
is capable of these adjustments.

SW UPDATING

Field Loadable Software

Software updates can now be performed in the field instead of
returning the units to Avidyne for each new update.
