Bed exit alarm is temporarily deactivated by the scale function. It is also deactivated by CPR and
transport.
Activation of the bed exit alarm is recommended whenever the patient is unattended. Be sure to
reactivate the bed exit alarm each time the patient returns to bed. Bed exit alarm is triggered by
dramatic weight reduction and may not alarm if patient is only partially exited from bed.
1. Press and hold Arm and Disarm buttons, shown at right,
together for five seconds.
2. Release buttons. Armed light will flash. Do not touch unit
until Armed light stops flashing.
3. Place patient on patient surface.
4. Press Arm button to activate bed exit alarm function.
5. Press Disarm button to deactivate bed exit alarm function.
Scale On

button to activate the scale and display current patient weight in the
Scale
display.
1. Press Scale On / Off button shown at right to activate scale.
The bed exit alarm is temporarily deactivated by the scale.
2. Current patient weight will be displayed in the Scale display. After approximately one minute, the Scale
display will return to the Trend Angle display.
