Reactivate rotation and percussion, as prescribed. Pulsation will automatically be restored.
15.
Adjust patient surface for patient comfort.
Rotation will be deactivated if head of unit is raised over 35
°
angle. This includes a combination of
Fowler and Trend angles.
16.
If needed, remove dirt and residue from plastic and painted surfaces of unit using a soft cloth or sponge.
Do not use abrasives or scouring pads on painted surfaces. Heavy, dried-on soil or excreta may require
soaking with a soapy cloth prior to scrubbing with the cloth.
Avoid spilling fluids on unit controls. If spills do occur, unplug unit and cancel transport
mode. Clean fluid from unit wearing rubber gloves to avoid any possibility of shock. Once
fluid is removed, plug power cord back into wall outlet and check operation of components
in area of spill. Fluids remaining on controls can cause corrosion, which may cause
components to fail or to operate erratically, possibly producing hazards for patient and staff.
Daily Equipment Check
In addition to cleaning, the following daily equipment check is recommended:
• Inspect any foams used for saturation. Replace foams as needed.
• Inspect packs, cushions and cover sheet for cuts or tears. Replace as needed.
• Inspect straps and buckles for wear. Ensure all are in good condition.
• Inspect all straps for fraying or parting.
If any items listed above appear to require service or replacement, contact ArjoHuntleigh.
