Incontinence / Drainage
1.
Place the
TriaDyne Proventa
cover sheet over patient support surface.
2.
ArjoHuntleigh’s Dri-Flo
™
breathable underpads are recommended for incontinent patients. Disposable
diapers or incontinence pads may be used.
Do not use plastic-backed underpads. Plastic may block moisture vapor transmission and air flow from
overlay. Dri-Flo breathable underpads are absorbent and permit more air flow.
3.
Watch for incontinence or drainage and provide appropriate skin care following each episode.
If severe incontinence persists, discontinue therapy and consult physician.
Patient Repositioning Using Dri-Flo Breathable Underpads
1.
Press
Instaflate On / Off
button located on the lower side rail control panel to create a firm surface.
Five beeps will sound when the Instaflate function is activated and will sound every 20 minutes until it
is cancelled.
2.
Adjust height of patient surface to lowest position.
3.
Lower side rails.
4.
Remove arm pack strap from across patient’s torso, if applicable.
5.
Take positions on each side of patient (at least
two people will be needed). Roll edges of
Dri-Flo
underpad on each side of patient, to get a firm grip.
6.
Use
Dri-Flo
underpad to lift and position patient
properly on mattress, verifying a one-inch (25 mm)
clearance between axilla and arm packs, and that top
of shoulder is between second and third cushion, as
shown at right.
7.
Secure arm pack strap if applicable.
8.
Raise and lock side rails. (If used, refer to
Risks
and
Precautions
in the
Introduction
chapter of this
manual.)
9.
Press
Instaflate On / Off
button to deactivate
Instaflate
function and return cushions to previous air
pressure settings.
10.
Reactivate rotation and percussion, as prescribed. Pulsation will automatically be restored.
