5. Remove the cylinder head nuts on top of the cam
shaft holder. Account for four flat washers.

6. Remove the camshaft holder noting the location of
the two alignment pins. Do not allow the align-
ment pins to fall into the engine.

7. Remove the camshaft from the cylinder head and
secure the cam chain to prevent it falling into the
crankcase.

8. Remove the cam chain guide.

NOTE: Steps 1-8 in the preceding sub-section

9. Remove the two cap screws from the left side of
the cylinder head; then remove the cylinder head.
Account for two alignment pins and remove and
discard the cylinder head gasket.

10. Lift the cylinder off the crankcase taking care not
to allow the piston to drop against the crankcase.
Account for the gasket and two alignment pins.
CAUTION
Do not rotate the crankshaft without keeping tension
on the cam chain or engine damage could occur.
