You can use the QuantStudio

™

6 or 7 Flex System touchscreen screen to:

• Set the expiration period for instrument calibrations and lamp replacement.
• Activate, deactivate, or change the frequency of the maintenance reminders

displayed by the QuantStudio

™

6 or 7 Flex System.

To set the reminder:

1.

From the Main Menu of the instrument touchscreen, touch Settings, then touch

Set Maintenance Reminders.

2.

For each reminder:

a.

Touch the Calibration expires after field.

b.

Use the keypad to enter the number of days (or, for the lamp, the number of

hours) that should elapse before expiration, then touch Done.

c.

(Optional) Touch the checkbox to activate or deactivate an expiration

reminder, then go to step 3.

3.

(Optional) Configure the reminder:

a.

Touch the Display reminders before field.

b.

Enter the number of days (or, for the lamp, the number of hours from

1-2000) before which the instrument should display warnings of the

impending expiration, then touch Done.

4.

Touch Save to save the settings, then touch OK when prompted.

5.

Touch to return to the Main Menu.

In the main menu of the instrument touchscreen, tap Settings, then tap Set

Network Information.

Note:

The Set Network Information screen displays the Media Access Control

(MAC) address of the QuantStudio

™

6 or 7 Flex Real-Time PCR System below the

Autodiscovery and Smart Monitoring check boxes. The MAC address can be

used to uniquely identify the system on the network.

2.

Tap Autodiscovery to make the system discoverable by computers that are

running the QuantStudio

™

Real-Time PCR Software.

3.

Tap Smart Monitoring to enable the feature on the QuantStudio

™

6 or 7 Flex

Real-Time PCR System.
The Smart Monitoring feature allows Thermo Fisher Scientific service personnel

to monitor the status of the QuantStudio

™

Real-Time PCR Software remotely

through an internet connection. Smart Monitoring employs multiple layers of

security, including a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Lightweight Directory

Access Protocol (LDAP) authentication, to provide real-time troubleshooting and

problem resolution for the system. For a detailed description of the Smart

Monitoring Service, see the Smart Monitoring Service Product Bulletin: Leveraging

the power of the Internet while maintaining system security (Pub. No. 121PB07-03).
