8 Troubleshooting

Notice! Damage to instrument!

Improperly performed repairs may damage the instrument.



Do not repair the instrument yourself. Always notify your immediate
supervisor or contact your Service Center.

Malfunction

Remedy

Argon pressure too low

Check the argon supply line for leaks and pressure as verify
the remaining amount of argon.

Auxiliary gas flow
deviation

The set flow rate cannot be reached.



Check the argon pressure and the plasma torch for leaks

or blockages and whether all connections have been
made correctly.

Plasma gas flow
deviation

The set flow rate cannot be reached.



Check the argon pressure and the plasma torch for leaks

or blockages and whether all connections have been
made correctly.

Plasma stopped (Dmb
timeout)

The generator could not establish communication with the gas
control unit.



Turn off the instrument and restart it again. If the problem

persists, please contact the SPECTRO Service
Department.

Extraction rate of the instrument (generator) is below the
minimum rate.

Check the extraction rate and adjust it to the values

required in the operating manual.
