7 Maintenance
7.1 Maintenance schedule
Information
In order to ensure the availability and operational safety of the equipment, we
recommend having the system checked for correct operation and performance at
least once per year by specialized technicians. To find contact addresses of
service organizations authorized by SPECTRO go to www.spectro.com
The maintenance intervals specified in the following table are guidelines which
should be observed as a minimum requirement. The maintenance intervals may
vary, depending on the use of the instrument.
To ensure the flawless function of the instrument, proceed with the following
maintenance tasks:
Start of work Tasks to be performed
Check the gas supply Minimum residual pressure in bottle: 40 bar.
Peristaltic pump tubing and sample
introduction system tubing Check for damage and flow.
Weekly maintenance work
Nebulizer Check for contamination and clogged lines. Clean
if required, see page 46.
Spray chamber Check for contamination and streaks. Clean if
required, see page 48.
OPI (EOP) Check for contamination. If necessary, remove
and clean the sampler, see page 55.
Backup of analysis data
MultiView option Move the Multiview adjustment from mechanical
stop to mechanical stop.
Monthly maintenance tasks
Plasma torch box Check the plasma torch and spray chamber for
damage and contamination. Clean or replace, if
required; see page 41.
Nebulizer Check quality of aerosol generation, see page 50.
Air filter (below the left rear
instrument cover) Replace, if dirty.
