7.10 Installing/removing
of
the
Dual Side-On Interface (DSOI)
Warning! Hot surface!
The plasma torch, plasma interface, and load coil may be very hot.
Let the components cool for 10 to 15 minutes before commencing work on
them.
When working on the plasma torch, plasma interface, and induction coil,
wearing protective gloves and safety goggles is mandatory.
Warning! Risk of injury
Glass parts may break when handled incorrectly and cause cutting injuries.
When working on the sample introduction system, wearing protective gloves
and safety goggles is mandatory.
If glass is broken, a suitable container (bucket) must be used to collect the
larger pieces first. In order to remove small parts and glass fragments, a
suitable vacuum must be used
In order to remove the components, proceed as follows:
1. Switch off the plasma.
2. Loosen
the
argon
connection (3).
3. Carefully rotate the DSOI (2)
one eighth of a turn
counterclockwise.
4. Carefully pull off the DSOI to the
right. Careful not to damage the
glass tube (1).
