CONTROLLING THE ALPHAVISION NG
The AlphaVision NG control panel can be armed and disarmed with an LCD, an LCD/Prox and an LED
keypad. Also one or more keyswitches can be used. The difference between the LCD and the LCD/Prox
keypad is that the LCD/Prox keypad has an internal proximity reader. Besides the possibility to arm and
disarm the system with a proximity key, the LCD/Prox keypad functions similar to the LCD keypad. Both
versions can be used in an installation.
When the control panel is in the idle state, the name of the installation company is displayed on the top line.
When this name is not programmed, the top line will be empty. The bottom line will show the date (day,
month), day of the week and the time (hours, minutes).
An LCD keypad has an internal buzzer for audible signaling during the exit and entry delay. The sounds for
the exit and entry delays are different from each other, so that the difference can be made. The internal
buzzer is also used to attend the user when alarm or trouble information is present, showed in the display by
the “INFORMATION AVAILABLE” message.
The AlphaVision LED keypad can be placed indoor and outdoor. This keypad cannot be used to execute any
functions in the system. The LED keypad has 8 extra LED’s which can be programmed to show the status of
8 sections, either permanent or temporarily. Because there is no LCD display for optical signaling on this
display, there are two extra audible signals. These signals are used when entering your user code. When the
user code you have entered is correct, you will hear a long beep. When the user code is incorrect you will
hear three short beeps.
The functionalities of the OK, A and B LED’s on the keypads can be programmed in the AlphaVision NG
programming. The red TEL LED burns when the control panel is dialing and is off when the dialler is in idle
state. The green 230V LED burns when the mains power is present and will start flashing when the mains
power is cut off. When the mains power has been cut off for a longer time than the programmed delay, the
230V LED will extinguish. The mains power loss will also be reported on the LCD display.
When in screen 8 of the programming the option “Automatic turn-off backlight and LED’s” is enabled, the
backlight and the LED’s will extinguish when the keys are not touched for 20 seconds. Only the 230V LED
will remain burning. When a key is pressed, or when the entry delay starts, the backlight and the LED’s will
be turned on again.
Alarm information on the display (F22#)
According to the latest security requirements it is no longer permitted to display alarm and trouble
information directly on the LCD display. To comply with the new requirements the AlphaVision NG control
panel uses function 22. When an alarm or trouble situation occurs, the message “
INFORMATION
AVAILABLE
” is shown on the keypad’s display.
Besides a message on the display the keypad’s internal buzzer will beep every
three seconds
after an alarm
or trouble has occurred. When the user does not do anything
within
one minute
, the beeps will stop.
To view the present information, execute
