User codes
User codes
The AlphaVision NG control panel is controlled with user codes. Up to 98 different user codes can be
programmed.
It is also possible to use proximity keys (only in combination with LCD/PROX keypad). With the proximity
keys, the 6 digit user code is factory programmed in the proximity key. This code will function exactly the
same as if the code was entered on the keypad. To use the proximity key, it must be presented to the internal
proximity reader of the LCD/PROX keypad. Just hold the proximity key a few centimeters before the
VisAccess sign, in between the 4 LED’s.
The proximity key can only be programmed at a AlphaVision NG LCD/PROX keypad and will function
with both LCD/PROX keypads and with NG Proximity Readers. When a proximity key is programmed on
an LCD/PROX keypad, the proximity key can directly be used on other LCD/PROX keypads and on the
programmed NG Proximity Readers.
4, 5 or 6 digit user codes
All user codes and the installer code consist either of 4, 5 or 6 digits. The default number of digits is 6, but
this can be changed in screen 8 of the programming.
Up to 98 user codes can be programmed, installer code not included. The 98
th
code is reserved for the main
user of the system. The installer code is programmed in the 99
th
location.
We advise to leave the number of digits at 6.
When the number of digits is programmed to 4, the user will not encounter any problems when creating new
user codes with function 6#. However, when the user codes are created with the PC, the user codes must be
entered with 6 digits. To program 4 digit user codes with the PC, two zero’s must be added to the user code
(one zero if 5 digit user codes are used).
Warning when using the AlphaManager up/download software:
When using the AlphaManager
software, the main user code and the installer code must be entered with 6 digits. These 6 digits must
correspond with the codes programmed in the control panel. When the control panel for instance still has the
default main user code 445566 and installer code 123456, and the number of digits is set to 4, the first 4
digits of the codes (4455 and 1234) can be used on the keypad, but the complete codes 445566 and 123456
must be used in the AlphaManager software. When the user later changed his code to e.g. 9876, the
AlphaManager software reads this as 987600, and only accepts the complete 6 digits code!
Attention: When Proximity keypads are used, the number of digits must be set to 6!
Usercode levels
With every programmed user code a code level must be programmed (0-7). The higher the level, the more
functions the user can execute. There is one exception, level 7 user codes have the same privileges as level 2
user codes.
The user levels are divided as follows:
Level 0
codes are special user codes, which cannot be used to arm and disarm the system. Level 0 codes can
only be used to activate outputs of an RO (Relay Output) module. In some cases it is useful to have the
possibility of activating an auxiliary device from the keypad, e.g. an electric lock or a garage door. It is also
possible to program proximity tags or cards with security level 0. User codes programmed with security
level 0 cannot execute functions and cannot arm or disarm the system. It is possible to program more than
one section to a level 0 user code, in this way entering the user code or presenting the proximity key will
activate the RO modules programmed to those sections.
