SHDSL Interface Configuration Command Set

termination <option>

Purpose

Use the termination <option> command to set the type of termination specified on the SHDSL
links.

Syntax Description

displays the syntax descriptions for the termination <option> command.

Default Values

The termination option is set to ntu.

Command Modes

The SHDSL Interface Configuration Mode is required for this command.

Functional Notes

When operating in a back-to-back application, one Total Access 238 must be set as an LTU
and the other as an NTU for the circuit to operate properly.

Usage Examples

Set the SHDSL interface termination mode to LTU.

Syntax

Description

ltu

Sets the line termination for Central Office signaling indicating that the SHDSL
interface is acting as the central office (otherwise known as the STU-C or LTU).

ntu

Sets the line termination for Customer Premises Equipment signaling indicating
that the SHDSL interface is connected to the Central Office and should respond
as the remote side of the link (otherwise known as the STU-R or NTU).
