10.3 Fault with Wire Buffer KINETIC‘s automatic position adjustment
In some cases, the Wire Buffer KINETIC‘s automatic position adjustment may fail without obtaining an
accurate setting result due to various factors.
► Perform automatic position adjustment again.
► If the same fault occurs again, check whether the fault is due to any of the following items and take
appropriate action.
► If the adjustment still fails, the Wire Buffer KINETIC may be faulty. Contact the service team.

Fault Measure
CAN line between the welding device and
the Wire feed control unit is not connected
or is open. ► Check whether the CAN communications line is
firmly plugged into the CAN communication
connector’s CN3 connection for the welding
power source.
The power supply to the wire feed control
unit is off.
► Check connections to the power source.
Wire feed load factor is high due to
extremely bent wire (R = 30 cm or less),
etc. ► Bend the wire as little as possible to ensure
smooth wire feed.
The wire feed resistance is high because it
is bent. ► Check whether the welding wire is fed smoothly.
► Carry out automatic adjustment again.
Wire feed resistance is high because the
contact tip is clogged with abrasion. ► Clean or replace the contact tip.
Automatic adjustment was not completed
within the specified time because it
was performed in a condition where the
welding wire extended linearly
(pulled from both sides) or where the
welding wire adhered to the
Wire Buffer KINETIC (pushed from both
sides). ► Check whether the welding wire is fed smoothly.
► Carry out automatic adjustment again.
► Before automatic readjustment, check if the
Wire Buffer KINETIC is near the center.
Melted beads are adhered to the tip. ► Remove spatter.
Welding wire is welded to the contact tip.
► Replace the contact tip.
The wire feed is hindered by resistance. ► Change the welding torch position and perform
automatic adjustment again.
The Wire Buffer KINETIC‘s wire liner is in
poor condition. ► Replace the plastic liner.
