9 Maintenance and cleaning

iROB

®

501 PRO

9.1 Maintenance and cleaning intervals

The specified intervals are standard values and refer to single-shift operation. We recommend recording the 
inspections. The date of the inspection, the detected defects and the name of the inspector must be recorded.

Daily

► Check that the device is properly grounded.
► Make sure that there is no abnormal heat generation along the 

cables.

► Check the cables are securely connected.
► Check that there are no problems with the insulation between the 

cables and the component.

► Check that the cables are not damaged.
► Check that none of the welding power source plastic covers are 

damaged.

► Check that there are no metallic noises, abnormal vibrations, or burnt 

odors in the device.

► Check that the fan rotates smoothly and evenly and that air is coming 

out of the vents on the front and rear of the device.

► Check that the buttons on the control panel function normally.
► Make sure that there are no large fluctuations in the primary power 

supply.

Push Feeder KINETIC:
► Check the guides for dirt and clean if necessary. Replace worn or 

deformed components.

► Check the wire feed rolls for dirt and clean if necessary.
► Check the bottom of the device for cleanliness and clean if necessary.
Pull Feeder KINETIC:
► Check the wire feed rolls for dirt and clean if necessary.
► Check the insulation on the conveyor roller. Replace if damaged.
► Check components that guide wire for cleanliness and clean if 

necessary.

Wire Buffer KINETIC:
► Check for damage and replace worn components.

Weekly

Pull Feeder KINETIC:
► Use reduced compressed air to clean the Pull Feeder KINETIC and 

the wire guide.

Quarterly

Push Feeder KINETIC:
► Check the encoder cable for damage. Check that the plug is secure. 

Clean if necessary. Replace worn components.

► Check the motor cable for damage. Replace worn components.
► Replace worn components.
Pull Feeder KINETIC:
► Check the pressure roll for ease of movement and clean the quick-

release axles and rolls if required. Replace components if they do not 
move smoothly.

► Replace the worn wire guide in the wire conduit. Check all 

connections are secure and tighten if necessary. Replace worn 
components.

Wire Buffer KINETIC:
► Check the encoder plug for a tight fit and fasten the plug if necessary.
► Check the encoder cable for damage, clean, and replace worn 

components.

► Check the encoder cable is securely connected and tighten the 

connector if necessary.

► Check the motor cable for damage and replace worn components.
