7.7 Additional functions
7.7.1 Setting the arc characteristic
Use of this function makes it possible to adjust the arc from hard (−10) to soft (+10).
7.7.2 Adjusting the penetration control
Activating this function makes it possible to automatically adjust the wire feed speed so that the welding
current remains constant even if the free welding wire end varies. The variances in penetration depth and
seam width are reduced. This function facilitates a consistent penetration depth.
The Penetration Control function is available under the following conditions:
— Welding procedure: mX Standard DC or mX Pulse DC
— Welding wire material: steel, steel flux-cored wire, CrNi stainless steel, or stainless steel flux-cored wire
— Sequence: main welding sequence
7.7.3 Adjusting the move frequency
The welding current switches between two values during the mX Move DC welding procedure. This creates
a scaled seam surface, the markedness of which is influenced by the frequency.
The move frequency function is only available in the mX Move DC welding procedure.
7.7.4 Setting kinetic move
Kinetic move welding alternates between mX Kinetic welding and pulse welding. It can increase the heat
input compared to mX Kinetic alone.
When mX Standard DC welding is selected with the <Welding procedure> selection button, only the
welding conditions for the mX Kinetic welding procedure can be set.
When the mX Pulse DC welding procedure is selected with the <Welding procedure> selection button,
the mX Kinetic welding procedure and mX Pulse DC welding procedure are output alternately,
