Monitor
8.1 Overview
Use the
Monitor
screens to check status and statistics information.
8.1.1 What You Can Do in this Chapter
• The
Network Status
screen (
) displays general LAN interface information and
packet statistics.
• The
AP Information

) displays statistics about the wireless
radio transmitters in the NWA1000 Series.
• The
Station Info
screen (
) displays statistics pertaining to the associated
stations.
• The
WDS Link Info
screen (
) displays statistics about the NWA1000 Series’s WDS
(Wireless Distribution System) connections.
• The
Detected Device
screen (
) displays information about suspected rogue
APs.
• The
View Log
screen (
) displays the NWA1000 Series’s current log messages.
You can change the way the log is displayed, you can e-mail the log, and you can also clear the log
in this screen.
8.2 What You Need to Know
The following terms and concepts may help as you read through the chapter.
Rogue AP
Rogue APs are wireless access points operating in a network’s coverage area that are not under the
control of the network’s administrators, and can open up holes in a network’s security.
Friendly AP
Friendly APs are other wireless access points that are detected in your network, as well as any others that
you know are not a threat (those from neighboring networks, for example).
