ZIP2x2 User’s Manual
This corresponds to the word “zultys.” When you select
Menu | Pswd Settings | Password
the
display shows:
Enter your password, then press the
OK
button. The phone displays the star characters shown
above as you enter the password. You must enter the correct password before changing any of
the parameters accessed through the
Pswd Settings
menu.
If you enter the password incorrectly, the screen remains, prompting you to enter the password
again.
If you enter the password correctly, the display changes to:
Press the
Esc
button to return to the Pswd Settings menu without logging out or changing your
password. You should return to this menu and log out after you changes the phone
configuration; this prevents other people from modifying the parameters. The phone will log you
out automatically if you have not made any changes to the configuration for ten minutes or if you
turn the power off.
To change the password, select
Change
. The display shows:
Enter the new password, then press the
OK
button. The display shows:
Enter the new password again. If you enter the password the same each time, the phone returns
to the initial Password menu. Otherwise, the phone prompts you to enter the new password
again. The password can contain 4 to 15 numeric characters (the digits 0 to 9, the # character and
the * character). If you try to add a sixteenth character, the phone plays the DTMF digit for the #
key and replaces the last character in the string with the last typed character.
The configuration file that is saved on the TFTP server can change the password whenever you
power up the phone. This allows the Administrator to restore a specified password every time the
phone powers up.
