“User Range” later in this section). Select the item number for
CTCSS/DCS decode or CTCSS/DCS
encode and press ENTER .
The current setting will appear along with a message instructing you to enter the new value. Enter
the new CTCSS/DCS value and press
ENTER when you have finished.
To program the CTCSS tones, just enter the desired tone directly (i.e. enter 67 for 67.0 Hz, or 118
for 118.8 Hz) decimal point is optional.
To program the DCS codes, preface the code with a D and then enter the actual DCS code (i.e. D023
for 023).
To clear a tone or code, simply type “0” and press ENTER .
CTCSS/DCS decode and CTCSS/DCS encode both default to “None” for all users.
CTCSS/DCS decode and CTCSS/DCS encode are both supported by block or range programming.
