from 32 to 36 Nwm (from 3.2 to 3.6 kfg m).
Note – To rotate the lever of the tension machine supportthe hole with diameter 12.5 mm for the
tap is provided.
5.14 Installation of the compressor and compressor drive belt
5.14.1 Fastening bolts of the compressor should be tightened with the moment of force from 28
to 36 Nwm (from 2.8 to 3.6 kfg m).
5.14.2 Buckle of the drive belt of the compressor in the middle between the pulleys of the
compressor and the tension mechanism while pressing the belt with the force from 39.2 41.2 Nwm
(4.0 - 4.2 kfg) should be from 4 to 8 mm.
Belt tension is adjusted with the rotation of the drag bar of the tension machine loosening the
nut tightening. After the belt tension pulley shaft of the tension machine and tensioning bolt should be
locked with the nuts.
5.15 Installation of the generator and generator drive belts
5.15.1 Generator drive belts for the operation in two-belt drive should be purchased and come
to the assembling as a kit (selected according to the length). If necessary it is allowed to select the
belts according to the length at the repair plant using the special machine. Difference in the length of
the belts from one kit can be no more than 2 mm.
5.15.2 Bending of each belt in the middle between the pulleys of the generator and fan
(compressor and generator drive) while pressing the belt with the force from 40 to 45 N (from 4.0 to
4.5 kfg) should be from 10 to 15 mm.
5.15.3 Belt tension on the engines
ЯМЗ-236, ЯМЗ-236М2, ЯМЗ-238, ЯМЗ-238М2, ЯМЗ-
238Н, ЯМЗ-238Л and ЯМЗ-238БЛ-1 is adjusted with the generator rotation relatively to the axis of
its fastening. After the belts tension bolt and nut of the fastening of the adjusting plate should be
tightened at first than the bolts of the fastening at the front and back generator arms at the support.
5.15.4 Belt tension at the engines ЯМЗ-238Н-1, ЯМЗ-238В, ЯМЗ-238ВМ and ЯМЗ-238Б are
adjusted with the rotation of the adjusting screw of the tension machine loosening the tightening of
the nut of the pulley shaft fastening. After the tension of the belts pulley shaft of the tension machine
and adjusting screw should be locked with the nuts and nut of the shaft fastening should be locked
with the bending of the locking washer at the one of the nut edges.
5.15.5 Generator installation Г290В at the engines ЯМЗ-238Н-1, ЯМЗ-238В, ЯМЗ-238ВМ
and ЯМЗ-238Б should be performed in the following order:
- to install the generator support with the threaded liner at the engine and to fasten it with the
nuts with washers, do not tighten;
