5.2 Crankshaft installation
5.2.1 Crankshaft bearing liners should be single, nominal or categorical repair dimensions with
the crankshaft bearings.
5.2.2 Before the installation of the crankshaft crank bearings, crankshaft bearing liners, block
surfaces and crankshaft bearing caps for the liners as well as joining surfaces of the block and caps
joint faces should be carefully wiped with fiberless napkins
5.2.3 Crankshaft bearing liners should fit tightly the bearings of the cylinder block and
crankshaft bearings caps at that liners extrusions should coincide the corresponding grooves of the
block and caps. Liners with the holes and grooves should be installed in the bearings of the cylinder
block.
5.2.4 Crankshaft bearings, working surfaces of the liners and half-washers of the thrust bearer
should be lubricated with the oil which is applied in the engine lubrication system.
5.2.5 Half-washer of the thrust bearer should be installed in the grooves of the back bearings of
the block and cap of the back crankshaft bearer so that the side with so that the side with grooves
joined the thrust face surfaces of the shaft.
5.2.6 Marking «0» (picture 5.1) at the gear 4 of the crankshaft should coincide the marking «0»
at the gear 2 of the crankshaft.
5.2.7 Crankshaft bearings caps should be installed without drunkenness in the runner slide of the
block bearings according to the marking of the index numbers of the bearings specified at the caps at
that the cap side with the marking should face the left row of the cylinders.
Note - Numbering of the bearings at the block begins from the front face of the block.
