Entering note events from scratch

This section explains how to step-record notes, using three specific examples.

Set the parameters below in sequence.

Play the keys C, D, E, F, G, A, B and C in order, as specified in the example.

Move the cursor to the beginning of the song by pressing the [STOP] button, and
press the SONG CONTROL [PLAY/PAUSE] button to hear the newly entered notes.

Press the [EXIT] button to exit from the Step Recording display.

Press the [SAVE] LCD button ([I] button) to call up the Song Open/Save
display for saving your data, then save the data in the Open/Save display
(page 75).

instrument is generated from the

The gate time (note length)
can be set to any desired per-
centage by using the [DATA
ENTRY] dial.
Use these buttons to set the "size" or "resolution"
of the current recording step time for the next
note to be entered. Here, we’ll set the resolution
to a
1/4 note
, as specified in the example.
• The recorded data will be lost if
you select another file or turn
the power to the instrument off
without executing the Save
operation.
