Device Reset
The following methods allow you to revert to CamDisc HNVR factory settings. If you want to delete only
passwords, use the
Reset
pushbutton described in "Controls, Indicators, and Ports" on page 14.
Using Software
To set CamDisc HNVR back to factory settings, navigate to section “Extras” in the Device Setup. There you
find Device reset section, as in the following image:
Setting options:
l
Nothing selected: by using the Apply and reboot device button, CamDisc HNVR will only reboot, without
any setting changes.
l
Load factory settings: by using the Apply and reboot device button, CamDisc HNVR will reboot and all
settings will be reset to default, refer to "Factory Settings" on page 55.
l
Load factory settings and keep connection settings: by using the Apply and reboot device button,
CamDisc HNVR will reboot and settings will be reset to default, except the following:
l
Baudrate for external Modem / ISDN-adapter
l
Modem-string for external Modem / ISDN-adapter
l
MSN of internal ISDN-adapter
l
IP address, Subnetmask, Gateway und Port of TCP/IP connection
l
DNS entry
l
All alarm numbers, included the fifth for HT-connect
l
HT-connect port and HT-connect configuration
l
Keep site archive settings: archive settings remain unchanged.
Using Hardware
This reset is a full device reset, reactivating factory settings. All settings, including passwords and user
names, will be deleted.
The steps one by one
l
Switch the CamDisc HNVR off
l
You need a 9 pin Sub-D plug with pin 2 connected to pin 3, and pin 7 connected to pin 8
l
Plug this reset plug into the interface labelled ”Transp. data/ Control interface”, refer to "Pin Assignment
and Functionality" on page 18.
l
Switch the CamDisc HNVR unit on and wait until LED Power on the front starts flashing.
l
Remove the reset plug.
l
Your CamDisc HNVR unit will be ready again as soon as device reset and reinitialisation have
completed.
