Error Codes
Whenever a measurement value is missing the data item status
is set to OLD_VALUE. If the data item has never been updated,
the status is set to DEFAULT_VALUE. In both cases an error
code is updated to the data item. The error code is calculated
according to the formula -(900 + value of the data item).

Communication fail error codes of the SMU
Table 23-9
Error code
Explanation
-1000
Timeout before reply received
-1001
Checksum error in the received message
-1002
STX not found in the start frame or data length is zero
-1003
Data field is too wide
-1004
Measured value out of measurement range
-1005
The result is not a floating point number
-1006
The difference between two consecutive
measurements is too big
-1007
Failed to initialize SMU
The sensor values may be multiplied in the MCU with 10 or 100
for the Modbus communication. In the external system the values
are accordingly divided with 1/10 or 1/100. In the case of error
code value the sensor code is not multiplied in the MCU. If the
external system anyway divides the error code value it may differ
from the value shown in tables above by one or two decade (e.g.
MCU error code -906 may be -90.6 in the external system).
