■ When installing the unit where it is
exposed to wind, ensure that the wind
cannot influence the fan area. This
might result in an "air short circuit"
between the expelled and the inrush-
ing air. Strong wind can have a nega-
tive influence on the heat exchanger
ventilation.
!
Please note
An "air short circuit" during
heating operation
will result in
the cooled expelled air re-
entering the unit. This can lead
to defrost problems.
Avoid "air short circuits".
!
Please note
An "air short circuit" during
cooling operation
will result in
the heated expelled air re-
entering the unit. This can lead
to high pressure faults.
Avoid "air short circuits".
■ Consider the heat emitted by the exter-
nal unit when planning the installation
of weather proofing measures.
■ To safeguard the perfect drainage of
condensate, install the unit with a
slope of approx. 10 mm towards the
fan side.
■ To prevent water collecting around the
unit, install a soakaway for the con-
densate created by the unit.
■ In areas at risk from frost (tempera-
tures below 1 °C at the installation
location), use a resistance heater
wrapped around the condensate line.
This will guarantee the reliable flow of
condensate.
■ Therefore, position the external unit no
closer than 3 m from pathways or
patios. The cooled air in the discharge
area creates a risk of ice forming when
there are outside temperatures below
10 °C.
■ Easy accessibility for maintenance
work (see the clearances in the follow-
ing diagram).
