- The lithium-ion battery can be charged any time without reducing its duration.

CHARGING THE BATTERY:

1. Insert the plug of the battery charger (16 fig.C) into the socket of the charging

station (17 fig.C).

2. Insert the plug of the battery charger into an appropriate socket. The mains voltage

must correspond to that indicated on the name plate of the battery charger.

3. Insert the charging station (17 fig.C) into the battery unit (4 fig.C). The red led will

light up (no. 18 fig.C) when the battery starts to charge.

4. The rechargeable battery only is fully charged when the charge indicator led (no.

18 fig.C) becomes green.

When the battery is completely empty, the charging time is about 5-7 hours.

2. NOTES ON ThE MAChINE:

- When the battery is empty, the machine will turn off and you will have to recharge it

even if you do not plan to continue working.

- The lithium battery is protected by a safety electronic circuit which turns the ma-

chine off automatically before the battery is completely finished and gets damaged.

Do not press the on/off switch after the automatic stop because the battery could

get damaged.

- If the machine is used continuously, it is normal that the battery unit heats up. In

such case, let it cool down for 30 minutes before charging it.

- The duration of the rechargeable battery varies according to the working conditions

and the type of hedge. In average working conditions the duration is about 8 min.

3. fIllINg ThE TANK AND lUBRICATION Of ThE ChAIN
IMPORTANT! The tool is provided with an empty tank; never operate the tool

without oil or with a low level as it could compromise the operation and the safety

of the operator.

IMPORTANT! Do not use old or recycled oil to fill the tank.

Procedure:

1  Clean the cap and the area around the tank cap with a cloth or a small brush.

2  Unscrew the oil cap (Fig. A no. 12) and fill the tank with biodegradable chain oil

available in specialized shops, hardware stores, agricultural machinery dealers, etc.

3  Fill the tank up to a maximum of 1 cm beneath the cap, taking care not to introduce

dirt, sawdust or dust inside.

N.B.: Empty the oil tank after each use.

IMPORTANT! The oil level must be checked frequently during use to prevent the

chain remaining without lubricant. If the chain saw runs without oil, the chain and

the bar will wear out quickly and the tool’s lifespan will be reduced. Check the oil

level frequently during use.

IMPORTANT! It is very important to clean the chain saw (with a small brush) around

the cap before refilling in order to prevent dirt from entering the tank and to free the

bleed hole located above the cap.

IMPORTANT! The length of time one oil fill-up lasts may vary according to the chain

tension, the type of wood being cut, the environmental temperature, the oil density,

and the usage of the chain saw.

4. INSERTINg AND REMOvINg ThE BATTERY (fIg. D)

- Insert the battery through the guides on the rear part of the handle until it locks with

an audible “click”.

To remove the battery, press the unlocking key (no. 1 fig. D) and remove it.

5. STARTINg AND STOPPINg

- Make sure you have charged and correctly inserted the battery.

- Grip the machine firmly, press the release button (Fig. A no. 21) to start it and then

the start lever (Fig. A no. 22).

 - To switch off the machine release the start lever (Fig. A no. 22) keeping tight hold

of the machine.

- It is recommended to repeat these operations several times before starting work in or-

der to check that it functions correctly and to familiarise yourself with the machine.

6. ChECKINg ThAT ThE AUTOMATIC OIlER fUNCTIONS CORRECTlY

-  Check that the tank is full of oil.

- Turn on the chain saw over a sheet of cardboard holding the blade about 4 cm

away.

-  If an oil stain forms on the cardboard within a minute, the lubrication device is working

correctly. If there is no oil on the cardboard, read the “Troubleshooting” paragraph

and contact customer services if the problem persists.

7. ShOUlDER STRAP

- Always wear the shoulder strap provided (Fig. A no. 28) and adjust it in the most

comfortable position.

USER INSTRUCTIONS

The following topics will be discussed below:

1. Preliminary checks

2. General behaviour (operational tips)

1. PRELIMINARY CHECKS

Before commissioning and regularly during cutting operations, it is essential to perform

the following checks:

- oil level check

- correct chain tensioning

- checking that the automatic oiler works correctly

- chain sharpening check

- wearing protective equipment; goggles, gloves, head, hand, leg and feet protection

(non-slip boots).

2. GENERAL BEHAVIOUR (OPERATIONAL TIPS)

- Make sure you stand in a stable position on the ground and keep your feet at a certain

distance so as to distribute your weight uniformly.

- Use the shoulder strap and grip the machine firmly with both hands in the shaped

areas.

- Start cutting the branch with the machine already operating.

- Move the cutting blade away when the machine is still rotating, otherwise the bar

could get stuck inside the branch.

- Work by exerting light pressure on the machine without overloading the motor.

- Cut the branches starting from the lowest ones and trim them in sections.

- Use the spike (no. 1 Fig. A) to help you get closer to the branches that are still

entangled on the plant.

WARNING: Do not use the machine whilst standing on ladders or other unstable

devices.

MAINTENANCE

wARNINg: Before operating, remove the battery unit (if applicable) from the

machine body; serious injury may occur if the body comes into contact with the

chain in motion.
wARNINg: The chain teeth are sharp; put on protection gloves before operation.
wARNINg: Do not turn on the start-up switch during the following operations.

CLEANING

-  Take care of your machine and clean it regularly to ensure that it remains perfectly

efficient and has a long lifetime.

-  Clean the machine with a soft brush or cloth.

-  Do not spray or wet the machine with water.

-  Do not use flammable substances, detergents, polishing products or solvents as

these may damage the machine beyond repair.

-  Chemical agents can easily damage the plastic parts.

-   Keep the oil away from the plastic parts.

reached 3-4 mm or when the links are worn (for the chain type see the “technical

information”).

-  Replace the bar if deformed or damaged.

For the bar and chain replacement follow the instructions indicated in the chapter

“Assembling the bar and the chain”.

WARNING! If the chain is not sharpened, the cut is difficult and the risk of injury for

the operator increases.

-  After every job, remove the oil from the tank, disassemble the bar and the chain and

clean them carefully with diesel using a small brush.

-  Keep the oil channels on the bar clean using a plasterer’s spatula or a metal wire.
