AUXILIARY OUTPUT WIRING
The "OPEN COLLECTOR" Auxiliary Outputs (AUX1 to AUX8) must only be connected to
external equipment via approved isolating devices such as relays or optoisolators mounted
within the panel.
An example of how to wire an auxiliary relay from the battery-backed VB is shown in
Figure 2.15. In this example the relay turns on if zones 1 or 3 go into alarm.
NOTES:
(a)
Use 24V devices, and allow for relay current in power requirement calculations.
(b)
Use reverse E.M.F. suppression diode on relays.
(c)
If a zone auxiliary output connects to more than one auxiliary relay, steering diodes
must be fitted.
(d)
An auxiliary open collector output may or may not be isolated when the
corresponding zone is isolated depending on programming. Refer to Section 4.10.
(e)
MAXIMUM current on each Auxiliary Output is 50 mA.
