For each input or output that is in a View grid, a drop-down button provides two options. 
 

Remove 

 
The first option, 

Remove

, uncouples the input or output from that grid and makes it black 

(available) from the Inputs or Outputs list at the top of the window. The corresponding space 
in the grid goes blank, meaning that an input or output can now be assigned to that space. 
 

Audio Bars 

 
The second option, Audio Bars, allows you to toggle between having the audio bars visible 
or not visible. See
