Check motor direction in drive and bypass modes:
If correct direction on drive and wrong direction in
bypass, switch any two leads at load side of MCCB. If correct direction in bypass but wrong direction
on drive, switch any two leads on the output terminal of the drive.

With the drive programmed as above, operation is as follows:
¾
If the overload relay trips, control power is interrupted and all contactors drop out.
¾
If drive trips, the drive opens RCHA/RCHC and closes LOWA/LOWC. The end result is that the
bypass contactor closes and the output contactor opens. The motor is now on utility power.
¾
Upon closure of S2-CC, the drive increases its output frequency until Commercial Power/Inv Switch
Freq (CPISF) is reached. If S2-CC is unmade before CPISF is reached, the frequency will return to its
original value. Once CPISF is reached, RCHA/RCHC opens and LOWA/LOWC closes. The drive’s
output frequency and voltage immediately go to zero. If S2-CC is now opened, the contacts will
change state and the drive will start into the rotating motor with 0 Hz.
DO NOT DO THIS!
¾
If it is necessary to transfer a motor from ATL to drive operation, unmake ST-CC, then unmake S2-
CC, then remake ST-CC,
IN THAT ORDER
. With the above programming, the drive does a speed
search upon a ST-CC closure or after riding-through a power glitch. A speed search avoids the
possibly large current surge associated with different drive/motor frequencies and voltages.
¾
If the operating frequency at the time of S2-CC closure is greater than CPISF, the drive will decrease
its frequency before changing contact states.
¾
The delay between RCH and LOW contact switching is about 0.6 seconds.
