5. Slide the brake shaft out of the frame pivot bushings
(Fig 049).

4. Remove the brake shaft cotter pin (Fig. 048).

6. Using a hammer and punch, drive both brake lever
control bearings from the brake pivot (Fig. 050).

7. Inspect the brake shaft and bushings for excessive
wear. Replace any worn or broken components
(Fig. 051).
