10. Remove the split ring (Fig. 415).
12. Remove the tapered roller bearing from the bottom
of the spindle assembly (Fig. 417).

11. Turn the spindle housing over and remove the oil
seal from the bottom of the spindle housing (Fig.
416). Note the orientation of the lower oil seal. The
open end of the seal faces outwards to help relieve
pressure from over-greasing the spindle assembly.
9. Remove the spindle spacer (Fig. 414).
