5. Press the blue
Evacuate
button on the front of the instrument. When the Evacuate light
flashes green for approximately 20-30 seconds and turns off, the
Ready to Open
light
turns solid green. At that point, the air has been evacuated from the instrument and it is
safe to open the vacuum interlock valve.
6. Loosen and twist the top part of the vacuum interlock handle to allow the entire handle
to move up and down. This handle controls the interior ball valve, which seals the
vacuum chamber and protects it from the outside pressure.
