Replacing the Boards in the ISQ 7000 Mass Spectrometer

ISQ 7000 Hardware Manual

Thermo Scientific

PC Communication Board, Controller Interface Board, and Support Bracket

To replace the PC communication board, controller interface board, and support 
bracket

1. Shut down your system by following the steps in 

“Shutting Down the ISQ 7000 System” 

on 

page 149

.

2. Use a T20 Torxhead screwdriver to loosen the top cover panel and left side panel screws 

from the interior front panel. Then slide the left and top cover panels toward the back of 
the instrument and lift them off.

3. Use a T20 Torxhead screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the stainless steel 

support bracket to the middle of the instrument.

4. Replace the bracket if necessary.

Note  

You do not have to remove the ion source cartridge or the column. However, you 

must vent the instrument.

Note  

If you only need to replace the support bracket, reattach it to the instrument, and 

restart your system by following the instructions in
