10. The next step consists of unlocking the locking ring and probing down, as the insert
has been positioned at the culmination point.
12.9 Static culmination
point (MH),
galvanometer
The first steps of this procedure are equivalent to the ones defined in the previous chapter
(determination of the culmination point, static mode, bar graph). As steps 1 to 5 are same,
the explanation of the procedure below will start at the moment the graph is displayed for
the first time on the screen.
Note that the key
allows to change from one type of graph to another according to
the user’s wishes. The two other keys allow you to change the resolution of the
galvanometer and to set the position of the pointer on its 0.
6. The probe is now in contact with the workpiece, on one side of the culmination point.
By default, the pointer is positioned on the 0 of the display. When the display is
activated, its resolution is 20µm. The value 0.00206 corresponds to the height
difference regarding the original position (which is 0).
