Maintenance after sweeping

A number of fixed maintenance tasks must be carried out daily after sweeping is completed. For
this maintenance work the hosing-down hose,

the high-pressure lance (optional)

 or a high-pressure

cleaner can be used. Chapter 6 contains a detailed description of the use of the hosing-down hose
and

the high-pressure lance (optional)

The handbrake must be engaged during cleaning of the vehicle.

The doors, windows and see-through hatch of the cabin must be closed during
cleaning of the vehicle with the hosing-down hose, the high-pressure lance
 or high-
pressure cleaner.

The engine compartment may only be cleaned when the engine is switched off.
Therefore, the hosing-down hose and the high-pressure lance
 cannot be used for
this purpose.

1)

Suction mouth and suction hose

Clean the suction mouth and suction hose.

Also clean the inside of the suction hose:
o

Carry out the "Starting the vehicle" procedure (§ 4.2) (engine speed ±1400 revs/min.).

o

Temporarily switch on the suction fan and the water pump.

o

Clean the inside of the suction hose:

Maintain a sufficiently safe distance from the vehicle while the diesel engine is
switched on.

2)

Sweeping unit

Remove dirt from the sweeping unit with excess water.

3)

Blow-off chamber and rubbish hopper

Open the tailboard completely.

Fully tip the rubbish hopper and extend the safety supports.

Clean the blow-off chamber and rubbish hopper with water.

Fully lower the rubbish hopper.

Clean the ventilation grid via the inspection hatches.

4)

Engine compartment and chassis

Before cleaning the engine compartment:

Fully tip the rubbish hopper and extend the safety supports.

Switch off the engine completely.

Clean the entire engine compartment and chassis with water. Care should be taken when
cleaning with high pressure.

5)

Exterior of the vehicle

Once the cabin is closed properly, clean the vehicle on the outside with water.
