Suction power
The vehicle's suction power is determined by the diesel engine's speed. Under standard conditions
and at engine speeds between 1300-1500 revs/min. wear, fuel consumption and noise levels will be
reasonably attuned to the vehicle's performance.
Suction mouth
Larger pieces of rubbish or large amounts of leaves can be sucked in through the front of the suction
mouth which can be opened by means of the joystick (fig. 5, no. 4).
Keep in mind that the suction power is reduced when the mouth is open.
If the suction mouth is blocked (by twigs, for example), it can be unblocked by switching off the
fan (fig. 5, no. 8), drawing the suction mouth upwards (fig. 5, no. 6) and reversing a small distance
to check that the blockage has been removed.
Brush speed
The brush speed must be adapted to prevailing sweeping conditions, such as: the litter situation, the
surface or the road speed.
When the brush speed has to be adjusted, the vehicle must first be brought to a halt.
This must be done in order to keep track of the traffic situation.
The brush speed can be regulated by means of the turning knob at the right below the windshield
(fig. 1, no. 13). The knob can be turned down to 0. Select an appropriate brush speed, but
not
too
high.
High brush speeds lead to increased brush wear and can cause objects, like small
stones, to be flung away.
Water pressure
The water circuit can be switched between high and low pressure. Under normal conditions low
pressure is sufficient to keep the suction mouth clean and prevent accumulation of dust. The higher
pressure should only be switched on (temporarily) under extreme circumstances or when the suction
mouth has become blocked.
By means of switch no. 14 on the central cab switchboard (fig. 5) the low or high
pressure can be selected.
Sprayer bar
The sprayer bar must be activated in dry conditions to prevent dust from developing
(fig. 5, no. 13).
Either the right-hand side or both sides can be sprayed. This selection can be made by
closing the valve on the sprayer bar (spray only on the right) or opening it (spray on
both sides).
Excessive use of water should be avoided during sweeping!
The amount of water in the vehicle is limited.
