Control Sets
A control set tells the Edge how to function. Control sets are used to set up the type of
test the Edge will perform, assign the template(s) to be used, the channels to be tested,
and the protocol used for the channels. Certain tests can be set up to start and
complete either manually or automatically. Multiple control sets in a single Edge
provide for greater flexibility.
To create a new control set, select New on the Control Sets menu. The New Control
Set Name dialog box is displayed. Enter a name and click OK. The Control Set dialog
box is displayed (see Figure 25).

Control Set Type Field
The Control Set Type field is used to configure the mode the Edge will be in. Note
the Control Set Type defaults to Call Originate.
Call Originate Control Set Type
The Call Originate Control Set is used when the Edge will generate calls to the device
under test. The Edge will place a call on each channel, sending the Transmit Digits (if
defined) and playing an audio file after the call is connected (if an audio file is
