Alarm Description
CEA608 Protocol Error Indicates a data error in a CEA608 payload of a CC data stream, applying to all forms of CEA608
(:ine 21 or ANC). Excludes errors in the CEA708 Caption Data Packet (CDP). Alarm message
definitions:
■ XDS on Field 1: Packets containing XDS were encountered in field 1 of the CEA608 data
stream.
■ Bit 1 in Control Word Invalid: A control word was encountered where Bit 1 did not match the
field.
■ Ctrl Char in Second Word: A control word was found in the second word of a two-byte
CEA608 packet.
■ CC in F2 But Not F1: CEA608 packets are present in F2 but missing in F1.
■ CEA608 Parity Error: A parity error was encountered in the CEA608 data stream.
■ Multiple Errors: Multiple errors were detected.
CEA708 Service(s) Missing Indicates that one or more of the services selected for the CEA708 Required Services setting in
the CONFIG menu is not present in the current closed caption data stream.
CEA708 Protocol Error Indicates that a parity, checksum, or CRC error (or other similar error) is detected in a CEA708
payload of a CC data stream, applying to all forms of CEA708 (Line 21 or ANC). Alarm message
definitions:
■ CEA708 Sequence Error: A continuity error was detected at the CEA708 protocol layer.
■ CEA708 Reserved Word: A reserved field was not set to the proper default value.
■ CEA708 SVCI-6 Coding Error: Services 1 through 6 were incorrectly coded as an auxiliary
service.
■ CEA708 Svc Block Truncated: The CEA708 service block does not fit in the CEA708 data
packet.
■ CEA708 Bac Command: An invalid command was encountered.
WST Page(s) Missing Indicates that one or more of the selected for the Teletext Required Services in the CONFIG menu
is not present in the current caption stream.
WST Protocol Error Indicates that there is an error in a VBI WST signal or in the WST protocol layer. Alarm message
definitions:
■ Error in Magazine/Packet Index: A Hamming-code error was encountered in the first two
bytes of a teletext packet.
■ Error in Packet 0 Data: A Hamming-code error was encountered in the header data in a “row
0” packet.
■ Parity Error in Text: A parity error was detected in the teletext data.
VBI (Line 21) CC Missing Indicates that the CEA608 VBI captions are missing in the selected video input signal. The alarm
is not active for HD, DL, or 3G signals.
VBI (WST) Missing Indicates that World System Teletext (WST) VBI teletext packets are not present for SD and
composite signals.
ANC (SMPTE 334M) CC Missing Indicates that there are no ANC (SMPTE334M) captions in the selected video input signal. The
alarm is not active for analog signals.
