Hard Disk Assembly
Removal.
To remove the removable hard disk assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Orient the instrument so that its bottom is down on the work surface and its rear
is facing you.
2.
Loosen the two thumb screws securing the hard disk assembly to the
instrument.
3.
Holding the screw heads, pull out the removable hard disk assembly carefully.
Installation.
To install, reverse this procedure.
Fan Tray Unit
You need a screwdriver with a T-15 Torx tip and a #2 Phillips screwdriver (items 1,
2, and 6).
Removal.
To remove the fan tray unit, refer to Figure 4-6 on page 4-16 and follow
these steps:
1.
Remove the handle unit, snaps, cosmetic covers, front-trim unit, and EMI
covers.
2.
Disconnect the fan cables from J300, J302, and J304 on the Power board.
3.
Remove the four screws securing the fan tray unit to the chassis.
4.
Lift the fan tray unit away from the chassis.
5.
Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the 12 screws securing the fans to the
fan bracket.
Install.
To install, reverse this procedure.
CAUTION.
The hard disk drive is extremely susceptible to static-discharge damage,
shock, dust and so on. When you store a removable hard disk assembly, put it into
an anti-static plastic bag to protect it.
