Performance Check/Calibration-Type 422 AC-DC
i. Position the probe tip so it is in contact w ith the
CALIBRATO R jack.
j. Set the T IM E /D IV switch to .5 ms.
k. CHECK—CRT display exactly four divisions in ampli
tude (two volts amplitude at CALIBRATOR JACK).
NOTE
Checks in parts k, m and o are valid only if the Chan
nel 1 and 2 GAIN were adjusted exactly in step 12 of
this procedure.

. Set both VO LTS/DIV switches to the C ALIBR ATE 4
DIVISIONS position.
m. CHECK—CRT display fo ur divisions ±0.06 division
in amplitude (internal calibrator accuracy w ithin 1.5%,
CALIBRATE 4 DIVISIONS position o f Channel 1 VO LTS/
DIV switch operating correctly).
n. Set the vertical Mode switch to CH 2.
o. CHECK—CRT display four divisions ±0.06 division in
amplitude (internal calibrator accuracy w ithin 1.5%, C A LI
BRATE 4 DIVISIONS position of Channel 2 VO LTS/D IV
switch operating correctly).
58. Check Calibrator Repetition Rate
a. Set the T IM E /D IV switch to 0.2 ms.
b. Position the start o f the display to the farthest left
vertical line.
c. CHECK—CRT display fo r length of one complete
cycle between 4.2 and 6.3 divisions (repetition rate one
kilohertz ±20%).
59. Check Calibrator Duty Cycle
a. Set the T IM E /D IV switch to 50 jus.
b. Set the V A R IA B LE T IM E /D IV control fo r one com
plete cycle in 10 divisions.
c. CHECK—CRT display fo r length of positive segment
of the square wave between 4.5 and 5,5 divisons (duty
cycle 45% to 55%).
This completes the checkout/calibration procedure fo r
the Type 422 w ith AC-DC Power Supply. Replace the cabi
net and re-attach the power supply to the indicator. If the
instrument has been completely checked and adjusted to
the tolerances given in this procedure it w ill meet or exceed
the specifications given in Section 1.
