ONNECTING
THE
P
RINTER
W
ITH
USB
If you have a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port enabled on
your computer, and if your computer is running Windows
98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000, you can connect your
T9412i or T9412n printer to the USB chain of devices.
1.
Make sure the printer and the computer are turned OFF.
2.
Plug the appropriate end of the USB cable into the socket
on the back of the printer.

Plug the other end of the cable into the USB connector on
your computer

4.
Connect the Power Cord to the back of the printer. Plug
the other end of the Power Cord into a properly
grounded outlet

note:
Do not turn on your computer until you have
successfully printed out a Configuration Sheet
from the
printer alone
. Follow the directions on page 17.

For Windows 98 you must load the USB driver from the
Xpress T9412 Series Solutions CD when prompted by
Windows Plug ‘N Play. The driver is located at
x:\USB\Windows98\Tally USB Printer Port
where x is the letter of your CD-ROM drive. You do not
have to do this for Windows 2000.
note:
Before you can print a regular print job, you must
load the appropriate Xpress driver on your computer.
Then go to
Properties
and select
Tally USB Port
Monitor
instead of
LPT 1
in the
Details
tab.
