The PCL Tab allows the user to specify the default PCL font
parameters.

The Advanced Tab allows the user to change the margins of
the printer and to print an Internal Cleaning Sheet.
Shifting the Printable Area
There may be times when you need to offset the printer’s
printable area slightly. For example, when you need text
entries to line up exactly with the boxes on a form. You can
do this by adjusting the margin values on the Advanced Tab
of the RCP. Adjusting the margins does not affect the
maximum printable area. Instead it shifts where the printable
area begins and ends. The left and top margins of the paper
in each tray can be set separately.

Font Number
This option selects the default PCL font number.
The default is 1 (Courier Lt SWC).
Symbol Set
This option selects the default PCL symbol set
to be used. The default is #33 (PC-8).
Font Pitch
This selection allows the user to change the font
size for monospaced PCL fonts. The Font Pitch
option is grayed out if the default font is a
proportional font. There is no selection
possibility for bitmap fonts. The values for Font
Pitch range from 0.44 to 99.99 in units of 0.01.
the default value is 10.00.
Font Height
This selection allows the user to change the font
height for proportional fonts. The Font Height is
grayed out if the default font is a monospaced
(fixed) PCL font. There is no selection
possibility for bitmap fonts. The values for Font
Height range from 4.00 to 99.75 in units of 0.25.
The default value is 12.00.
Lines per Form
The Lines per Form parameter selects the
maximum number of lines that can be printed on
a page using PCL. The available values range
from 5 to 128. The default value is 60.
Courier
The Courier parameter selects the version of
Courier to be used. The available values are
Regular and Dark. The default value is Regular.
Append CR to LF
The Append CR to LF parameter determines
whether a Carriage Return will be appended to
each line feed encountered in backward
compatible PCL jobs (pure text, no job control).
The available values are No and Yes. The default
value is No.
Restore Defaults
The Restore Defaults button replaces all
selections in the PCL Tab with factory default
settings.

Margin
This option allows the user to increase the print
margins. The top and left margins will be
increased by the amount selected. The Left
Margin values range from 0.0” to 3.0” and the
Top Margin values range from 0.0” to 5.0” using
0.1” increments. The default values are 0.0”.
The user may select to change the values to use
millimeters. The default values are 0 mm.

Internal Cleaning
Sheet
This selection allows the user to print the
Internal Cleaning Sheet. Press this button
whenever print quality diminishes.
Restore Defaults
The Restore Defaults button replaces all
selections in the Advanced Tab with factory
default settings.
