Chapter 1, Introduction
System Requirements
The Xpress T9412i and T9412n printers require the following
minimum system configurations:
Windows Operating System
•
Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me, Windows 2000, or
Windows NT 4.0
•
486 or higher CPU
•
CD-ROM drive
•
5 MB of free hard disk space
•
8 MB or more of RAM
Macintosh Operating System
•
MacOS 8.6 or higher
•
CD-ROM drive
Hardware Requirements
You need to provide one of the following cables in order to
connect your computer to this printer.
•
For a direct connection, an IEEE 1284-compliant parallel
cable.
•
For a USB connection, a certified USB cable.
•
For an Ethernet connection from the Xpress T9412n
printer (or a T9412i with the optional NIC), use a
Category 5 twisted pair cable with RJ-45 connectors for
10/100Base-TX Ethernet.
note:
The Xpress T9412i(n) with a network interface
card (NIC) automatically detects whether you have a
10 Mbps or 100 Mbps Ethernet connection. For better
performance, Tally recommends that you use shielded
cable when connecting to 100 Mbps Ethernet.
