Chapter 3, Installing the Software

The Tally License Agreement will appear.
Choose I Accept to proceed.

When the home page screen appears choose your printer
model, for example Xpress T9412n.

From there you will be asked whether you want to install
from the CD or from the Web server. The advantage of
installing from the Web is that you will be installing the
very latest printer drivers from Tally. The disadvantage is
that the install may be interrupted or slowed down by
your Internet provider.

When options are given on the next screen, you may
want to view the reference videos. Select Reference and
then Help Videos.

To navigate back to the main menu from the
Reference screen, select the
back
button and then the
main
button.

Choose to install either from the CD or from the Web.
Select Install.

Next you will be asked to choose between the following
install options:
Easy Local Install:
Use this if you have a parallel
connection between your PC and the printer. Printer
drivers and online user’s guides will be automatically
loaded on your PC.
Easy Network Install:
Use this if you are going to be
printing from your PC to a networked Xpress printer.
You will choose your network printer ports. Tally
Network Printer port files will automatically load with
this setup.
Custom Install:
Use this if you want to choose
individual items such as, Network Printer Manager
(tools for network administrators), the Remote Control
Panel, PostScript (PS) printer driver, or Acrobat Reader 4.
