Editing antivirus
notification messages
Whenever Symantec Mail Security for SMTP sidelines and processes a message
for virus cleaning, it extracts the appropriate text from the notification file and
creates an advisory message that informs the recipient of the action taken.
Symantec Mail Security for SMTP then inserts the original message as an
attachment to the advisory message. This method ensures that the advisory
message is always presented to the user, and that the original message is
included unless it has been deleted as uncleanable.
Although it is not necessary for you to edit these messages, you can do so if you
wish. This section explains the format of the file that contains the messages and
the procedure for modifying it.
