9.6 Setting the Bed Height
The mattress base height is continuously adjustable. The adjustment range can be restricted elec-
tronically on the handset and the control box (see Special Bed Adaptations
» 105 ). If the mattress
base is tilted, it moves automatically into a horizontal position when it reaches the highest or low-
est setting.
When the mattress base height is adjusted, an additional intermediate stop is made automat-
ically at a comfortable height for getting in or out of bed of about 41 cm. To continue with the
height adjustment, let go of the adjustment button and then press it again.
With the “fixed headboard” model variant, the maximum bed height with a highly
raised
backrest is reduced in order to maintain a comfortable minimum distance to a patient lifting
pole being used. An additional “LIMIT” notice on the display indicates an active limit during
adjustment.
CAUTION
Risk of crushing
If the mattress base is raised or lowered beyond the pre-set intermediate stopping position (41
cm), an acoustic signal alerts you to the danger of feet being crushed or entrapped.
Make sure that there are no feet or objects under the mattress base of the bed while
the adjustment is carried out!
9.6.1 On the LCD Handset
1 Select the bed height adjustment function
using the toggle button.
2 Press the UP button to raise the bed.
3 Press the DOWN button to lower the bed
again.
