The basket must be fully inserted into the carrier. Push the basket until the front of
the basket is level with the carrier.

5.

With the basket fully pushed into the carrier,
push up on the two basket catches on the
carrier until BOTH catches engage and BOTH
ball levers drop. The basket is now docked in
the carrier.

5.7

The Carrier Light Guard

The sonic irrigator has an in- built carrier light
guard that monitors the front of carrier for any
obstructions as it rises and lowers. If an object
interrupts the light guard beam, the carrier will
cease movement and be inoperable until the
object is removed from the area.

The

most

common

source

of

objects

interrupting

the

light

guard

beam

are

instruments that have moved outside a basket, or a basket that is not fully docked
into the carrier. All baskets should be inspected to make sure that they are fully
docked and that all instruments are fully contained within the baskets. As soon as
the offending object is removed from of the path of the light guard, the carrier
becomes operational, and the controls on the display are enabled.
