7. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM:
WHAT TO DO:
The machine does
not respond when I
press the buttons.
•
Make sure the machine is plugged in.
•
If socket is on but you have no power, check the socket with another machine that you
know works.
•
Check the power cord for any damage – cracks or splitting.
The machine cannot
be locked.
•
Make sure you have removed safety plugs as described in paragraph 2.2.
The machine has
sucked in moisture.
•
Stop all operations by pressing Stop. Remove the liquid tray from the vacuum channel.
Clean it and dry it. Proceed with the vacuum packing process.
You pressed the
wrong button.
•
Stop all operations by pressing Stop. Start the process from the beginning.
Air remains in the
bag.
•
Make sure you have placed the entire open end of the bag in the middle of the vacuum
channel.
•
Make sure the bags you are using are at least 100/130 μm thick.
•
Check if the bag is damaged – splits, perforations or bubbles. Test: Seal the bag and
submerge it in water. Bubbles will appear from the damaged parts.
•
When using foil rolls, make sure the bottom sealing edge is correctly sealed.
•
Do not cut the foil lengthwise to make narrower bags because it disturbs the distri
bution of the ribbed profi le and consequently the air cannot be removed suffi ciently.
•
Make sure the attachment for vacuum sealing containers is not attached to the ma
chine.
The bags don’t hold
vacuum.
•
Check if the sealing area of the lid is free from any dirt, grease, or food particles, and
that it is fi rmly in place.
•
Ensure that the edges of the bag are perfectly clean – thoroughly remove any food
particles or liquid and ensure the bag is completely dry.
•
If you are sealing anything with sharp edges (e.g. bones) make sure they cannot
pierce the bag during the vacuum process. Cover sharp edges with a paper towel prior
sealing.
Bag melts or
cannot be sealed
completely.
•
Make sure you are using bags that are at least 100/130 μm thick and twoply.
•
Before sealing, make sure that the edges of the bag are clean and dry.
The machine seals
several bags (up to
5) than it seems it is
not working properly
anymore.
•
We strongly recommend vacuum bags that are at least 100/130 μm thick. There are
many different types of vacuum bags available on the market so pay special attention
to the quality. Our recommendation is to use original vacuum bags from Status, which
are twoply and 100/130 μm thick.
The vacuum
container doesn’t
hold the vacuum.
•
Make sure the container lid (especially gaskets) is clean and dry and in the correct
position.
•
Make sure the valve on the lid of the container is clean and dry. If needed, reassemble
and clean it.
Vacuum container
cannot be vacuum
sealed.
•
Check if the lid of the machine is locked.
•
Make sure the tube is fi rmly inserted as shown in Figure 6.
